The BodyPod scale is completely safe to use during pregnancy without any direct interaction or impact on the baby. However, as the pregnancy progresses, changes in the mother's body will affect the scale's readings.
As the baby grows, the extra weight is felt primarily in the torso region. For example, at 8 months, a 9-pound baby will show up on the scale as an extra 5-6 pounds of muscle and about 3 pounds of fat. The reason for this is that the scale attributes the baby's weight to the mother's body composition.
Additionally, pregnancy-related water retention likely contributes to increased lean tissue readings. Overall, while the BodyPod scale remains safe to use, the segmented analysis shows increased weight in the trunk area, which includes the baby and other pregnancy-related changes, and does not fully reflect the mother's body.
The scale can be used by children or elderly people.
It will always be accurate in terms of tissue weight and percentage.
There is less research on reference values for children, so the child is measured against the standards of a 19-year-old. This can lead to them being rated "normal" or "low" when they are "high" for their age.
The user should track the amounts and trends for accuracy.
Our scale is not an X-ray machine, so it cannot directly measure bone density, which decreases particularly sharply in osteoporosis. However, our scale can interpret bone mineral content, which is closely related to bone mass. In general, bone density and bone mineral content are correlated, which means that high bone mineral content usually indicates good bone density. It is very unlikely to have high bone density with low bone mineral content, and it is impossible to have high bone mineral content with low bone density.
This correlation gives us a high level of confidence in the ability of our scale to reliably determine bone mass.
While the scale cannot diagnose osteoporosis, it can be a useful tool for monitoring changes in bone mass. If someone notices a decline in their bone mass, they should contact a doctor. Additionally, people who have already been diagnosed with osteoporosis can use the scale to track changes in their bone mass over time or to see the effects of diet and/or medications. It is important to note, however, that once osteoporosis is present, the goal is usually to slow or stop further bone loss, rather than reverse it.
No interference in patients with cochlear implants. BIA can be performed safely in these patients.
Yes, our scale is safe for users with atrial fibrillation. Atrial fibrillation is a condition that causes an irregular or rapid heart rate, but our devices do not interact with or affect heart function. You can use the scale with confidence as it poses no risk to people with this condition.
As you continue to use Hume Plus, your Digital Twin will begin to establish a baseline for your health. It does this by analyzing your 17 health metrics (via your Body Pod), as well as third-party data you've integrated from Apple or Google, including your activity and sleep. From there, your Digital Twin will build and analyze how your health is progressing and what that means, which will be communicated to you via your Health Score and Insights. Once your Digital Twin has this baseline data, it will help you develop healthier habits through rings and goals.
Over time, as you continue to use Hume Plus, your Digital Twin will become smarter and continue to optimize itself, giving you more personalized insights and goals to help you achieve your goals.
Milestones allow you to set personal health goals and track your progress over time. They provide a clear, structured way to monitor your journey and keep you focused and motivated as you work toward better health.
Your Health Score is a measure of your overall health and serves as the basis for creating your Digital Twin - a visual representation of your health. It provides a comprehensive understanding of how well you are taking care of your body and how your health is progressing.
A new health score is created each week by weighing yourself at least once. The more often you weigh yourself, the more personalized your data becomes. Your health score fluctuates depending on changes in your body composition and daily behavior.
The health score is calculated on the basis of 900 points and is based on four essential health pillars:
- Body composition: This value is calculated based on the data collected by your smart scale.
- Activity: This metric reflects your activity level, including steps and active minutes tracked by your connected apps.
- Nutrition: This score is based on how well you complete the weekly challenges related to developing healthy eating habits.

- Email support@myhumehealth.com .
- Contact us via our Instagram page @hume_health or our Facebook page @HumeHealth.

Developed in collaboration with leading health experts, your Health Score gives you a holistic and personalized picture of your health. It shows you how healthy you are compared to the benchmarks of people similar to you. You can create your score each week to see how your health is evolving and how your daily habits are affecting your score. As you adopt more positive habits, your score will adapt to these changes.
Your health score will be displayed directly in the Hume Health app. To view your health score, follow these steps:
- Open the Hume Health app.
- On the "Home" page, your health score is displayed at the top right of the screen.
- To access your health status, you can either tap your health status in the top right of the Home page or select the Health Status Ring, the ring with the heart icon on the far right of your Home page.
Today, your Health Score is comprised of body composition data from your Body Pod, as well as other key indicators of holistic health including: exercise, nutrition, stress, and sleep. This data is collected by syncing with your other health products and devices. To get the most accurate Health Score, we recommend weighing yourself at least twice a week.
With the health score, it's important that you consider trends in your score and not just look at one score on its own. If you get a score that you're unhappy with, don't be discouraged. Remember, it's more important to see improvements and trends in the right direction by making lifestyle changes and taking action.
Areas for health status:
The following table lists the areas for the health score
765 - 900 Excellent
675 - 764 Very good
585 - 674 Good
450 -584 Moderate
297 - 449 Average
296 or less Low
In addition to your health score, you'll also get personalized information about your score, such as why it's gotten worse compared to last week and goals to help you improve it. Remember, it's more important to consider trends in your health score than to look at one score in isolation. The more you implement our recommendations and the better we understand what kind of insights are helpful, the more we can give you tailored recommendations to help you reach your goal. The more you track and do, the more you'll progress. And quickly, your score will progress too
You'll notice that we send weekly insights instead of daily insights. We believe this sets us apart from other health solutions on the market. While tracking daily changes in fitness can be useful, it's especially important to see health trends over longer periods of time to spot early indicators of certain chronic conditions. We know that things like weight, water, and eating habits can change from one day to the next, and your health score is calculated taking these fluctuations into account.
Our Meal Plan feature provides you with a customized calorie plan that includes macronutrient and micronutrient goals.
By answering a few questions about your health goals, weight, activity level and preferred diet, our science-based nutrition calculator will create a personalized plan to help you achieve your desired goals.
Have your goals changed? No problem! You can adjust these nutritional goals at any time in the profile section of your application.
Please consult a professional before starting any nutrition, fitness or wellness program.

Here are a few tips to make food tracking even easier!

- Plan your meals for the week. This way, you can do your shopping, take a few minutes, and log your meals in advance instead of every day.
- Just be sure to add in any extra foods you eat during the week. Cooking in bulk makes it easier to keep track because once you've logged a meal once, you can do it again quickly and easily!
To customize the meals you want to display, follow these steps:

- If you are a Hume Plus Premium user, select your Nutrition ring at the top of your "Home" page. If you are a free user, select the "Nutrition" icon in the bottom app bar.

- Then select the "+" symbol next to a meal.
- Select "Food Scan" at the top right.
- Point your camera at the food you want to scan to get a clear image of that food.
- Remember that you only need to scan one ingredient at a time.
- Tip: When preparing a meal, scan the ingredients before preparing them and incorporating them into your meal.
- Select the food you want to scan from the suggestion list. If you don't see what you're looking for, try using the barcode scanner or enter the food manually.
- Once the food is selected, you can choose the correct portion size and number of servings.
- Tip: Even if you are scanning a larger meal, be sure to enter the amount you plan to eat in the meal. For example, if the recipe you are preparing calls for four servings, you only need to enter 1 serving.
- Once your food is captured, you can move on to the second food and repeat the same steps: scan food, select the appropriate food from the list, select, add, adjust the serving size, save the item, go back and select the next ingredient.
- Some foods even reveal themselves by scanning the container. Then just select the food, adjust the portion size to the amount you actually eat at that meal, and click save.
- When you're done, click the heart icon to save each food to your favorites. This will save the food to the favorites section at the bottom of the screen for easy access in the future.
- And it's easy to track your meal so all you have to do is enjoy!

When you tap "Edit," you can choose from the list of micronutrients you want to track. You can add a micronutrient to your nutrition card by tapping the "+" next to the micronutrient, or remove it by tapping the "-." You can also drag and drop to change the order of nutrients.
